OUR MISSION:
For the last 25 years, my job in the Video Game industry required me to travel all over North America, ten times over, with the help of my best friends. I have come across nearly every domestic travel experience, both good and bad.
No matter how well you plan, things just happen. The unfortunate things that happen are what people need to know and how we overcame them.
I feel like I've done everything I can for the video game industry and making games accessible.
Now, the travel industry needs our help, and I feel that's my next calling.
Things need to change across the board for people with severe mobility impairments, especially in the airline industry. I am landlocked because of this unless I take a cruise and plan on being gone for 3 to 6 months.
However, our goal is not just about changing the travel industry, it’s all about changing the hearts and minds of societies and cultures around the world regarding the stigmas that come with having a disability.
For example, one of my best friends, Harry, is from New Delhi, India. He tells me when he sees a disabled person in public, they are usually begging for money. As sad as this is, it’s because there is no infrastructure to help them. Civilians accept this as normal there and do usually give generously to those in need. Dignity…dignity is what’s lacking here. This is not a problem exclusive to India, but to MANY cultures around the world.
Someone very close to my heart lives in the Philippines. I asked her, “How do you think people would react to me there?” She believes her society would look on with amazement and always offer help. Filipinos are known for being a warm and kind-hearted society. Although the infrastructure for people with disabilities is lacking, they are making slow progress. If I can get an airline to accommodate my needs, the Philippines is the first country that I would like to go to.
All that being said, let’s do this! If you work in the travel industry, and can help us reach our goals and my dreams in any way, please contact us in the form below. For those of you who believe in our mission, please consider subscribing to our Patreon.
