HOTELS & AIR BNB:

Not much to say about hotels in general. It's sad that they charge more for an accessible room and most accessible rooms are only one bed. This doesn't help when you are traveling with a friend or a personal care assistant.

Even in the accessible rooms, the wheelchair accessible shower is too small for a general wheelchair. I make sure I take good sponge baths while I'm on the road.

An Airbnb can be nice, but finding ones that are wheelchair accessible can be a challenge. If I can afford it, I do prefer an Airbnb over a hotel. However, I get nervous because I know I have to be very careful while making tight corners with my wheelchair. Someone paid a lot of money to invest in a property and I don't want to damage it. I don't feel the same nervousness when at a regular hotel.
